Enrollment & Registration

Welcome. Information for parents/guardians to start and complete the enrollment process. It is important to follow through with each section below - from Who to When to How.

Announcements - updated 7/29/19
Beginning August 1, enrollments will be accepted on a walk-in basis at the Student Support Services Office at 4210 Technology Drive. Office is open from 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday - Closed August 2. Wait times will vary and will increase as the first day of school approaches on August 28. On busier days, the LAST walk-in slot accepted may be before 4:00pm. Directions below.

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten placement letters for the 2019-2020 school year mailed out on Tuesday, April 9.

For the 2019 - 2020 school year the following schools had more students enroll than they have seats available, therefore there will be a lottery held to determine who gets a seat and the order of the wait list. Placement letters will be mailed out the first week of April and will indicate the school placement or that you child will be overloaded with a placement happening closer to summer.

Vaccine Update - Effective January 1, 2016, Personal Beliefs Exemptions will no longer be an option for the vaccines that are currently required for entry into school or child care in California. Personal belief exemptions filed at a school or child care facility before January 1, 2016 will remain valid until the student enrolls in the next grade span, typically at TK/kindergarten or 7th grade. Grade spans are childcare, TK through 6th grade, and 7th through 12th grade.

School Wait Lists - Elementary schools participate in a Kindergarten lottery when more Kinder students are enrolled than available space.

 

Who can Enroll - Prerequisites

Students must be living full-time in Fremont, CA at the time of enrollment.

Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st of the current year to enroll in Kindergarten.

PLEASE NOTE Initial grade placement of enrolling students shall be based on chronological age (BP 5111).

A student cannot be enrolled in an FUSD school for the current school year if they are currently enrolled in another public or private school for the current school year.

 

 

Did You Know? FUSD Offers Two Language Immersion Programs

Spanish and Mandarin. The district's Immersion program is open to non English-speaking and English-speaking students. Immersion education is an alternative educational model designed to provide students with fluency and literacy in two languages. In these programs, all students develop literacy in the target language first with the gradual addition of English. Students in the Immersion program are taught using the same California State Standards as all other students in the district. How to Enroll 2019-20 School Year - Directions

Elementary - Grades TK (Transitional Kindergarten) through Grade 6
Beginning August 1, enrollments will be accepted on a walk-in basis at the Student Support Services Office at 4210 Technology Drive. Office is open from 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday - Closed August 2. Wait times will vary and will increase as the first day of school approaches on August 28. On busier days, the LAST walk-in slot accepted may be before 4:00pm.

Families should complete the packet (Enrollment Packet English | Spanish | Mandarin) and bring it to the office with:

  • Child proof of birth (birth certificate or passport)
  • Child immunization records
  • Parent ID
  • Proof of residence in Fremont (lease agreement/mortgage statement, utility bill (for example: PG&E, ACWD, or Republic Trash Services), pay stub, official government mailing)
