Which FUSD schools did you attend and when?
Brier Elementary - 1970-77
Walters Jr. High - 1977-79
Kennedy High - Class of 1983 (1979-83)

Did you go on to college?
San Jose State University - Political Science - Public Administration
Mission College - Personal Trainer Certification
National University - Teaching Credential - Social Studies and Physical Education

What are you doing now?
I am teaching Physical Education at Centerville Junior High School in the Fremont Unified School District.

How did your time with FUSD help prepare you for your career?
Fremont schools helped develop a good work ethic which has helped me overcome the hurdles that pop up throughout life.  It also gave me the technical skills needed to succeed at each level of my education and professional life.  My experiences in physical education were very positive, however, I observed that some students did not gain much from traditional physical education and I wanted to provide a program that would have something to offer all students - not just those who enjoyed sports.

Who are some of the teachers/staff who had the greatest influence on you?
Ms. Peggy Weber - Brier Elementary School.
Ms. Lind - Brier Elementary School.
Mr. Rob Marshall - Kennedy High School
Mr. Ralph Holding - Kennedy High School

What advice do you have for current students?
Take what each teacher has to offer, no matter what you think about it now or what you think you might want to do.  You never know what you will need later or how what you may want to do will change over the years.  What teachers are giving you is free (aside from having to work), it is a gift, so don't limit your future to just what interests you know today. Take something from everyone to expand your possibilities.

Anything else you’d like us to know about you?
Fremont schools are among the best and each has unique environments that help to shape students to be successful.  Fremont schools taught me to think critically and there is not a day that goes by that I do not use the skills gifted to me by my teachers, even in areas I felt I had no interest it.
